ola company | ola founder | ola owner | ola electric careers | Success story of OLA

The founders of Ola are Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati.

The CEO of Ola is Bhavesh Agarwal.

So in this blog we will know

how Ola got started.

How Ola got so many taxis listed on its platform.

How has a startup become such a big company?

The story begins

The story begins with Bhavesh Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati from IIT-Bombay both studying in IIT-Bombay.

In his college, there were many programs related to entrepreneurship and Bhavesh Agarwal used to attend all the programs, then it had entered in the mind of Bhavish Aggarwal whether to do something related to entrepreneurship or not.

Bhavish Aggarwal used to think that while living in college, he started some business, then Ankit Bhati used to live in the room next to him, then both of them started a business together and started a travel agency. So this business was very manual, these people used to work in this business manually like a call from a customer that they have to go from one city to another and then they used to call the driver manually for booking from one city to another So all this work was very manual

Then he used to introduce the customer and the taxi driver and take the customer from one city to another. The work of such taxi drivers was also done and their work was also done. But all this work was done very manually, they had to do all the work themselves, there was no digitization on this work.

So how did Ola start now, so how did they start Ola Caps now.

What happened on day 1 that Bhavesh Agarwal was going from one city to another, then it was a little late night and Bhavesh called a driver and called brother, I have to go to that city, then an amount between Bhavesh and the driver It was fixed that I will give you so much money and you will leave me till that city.

So as soon as the car reached the halfway point, the driver hit the brakes and the driver said that brother, if you give me more money, then only I will go ahead, otherwise I am going back from here. So Bhavesh said that brother, we had already made a deal that I will give you so much money and you will leave me till there. And now you are here halfway in the middle of the night saying that increase the money, where should I increase the money and give it.

So the driver clearly refused and said that if you increase the money, then I will go ahead otherwise I will not go and Bhavesh Aggarwal refused, after that Bhavish Aggarwal had to complete the journey on foot.

So this is where Ola started, Bhavish Aggarwal thought that if this has happened to me today, I don't know how many must have happened to him. He thought that this is a very big problem and it has to be solved.

So Ankit Bhati, who is a friend of Bhavish Aggarwal, was very good at coding and he used to coding for 48 hours. Bhavesh Aggarwal used to tell them that brother you do coding and make this application very lightweight and easy to use so that any customer can use this application and our website very easily. So this is how Ola started.

In between, Ola had taken out the referral link for the students. Any student who used to send an invitation to any of his friends from this referral link through any platform. And if he booked his first ride, Ola used to give him one ride free after sending 2-3 links.

In this way Ola achieved next level growth and now Ola does its business all over India and Ola's more competition in the market is only uber.

The market size of Ola in India is more than that of Uber, meaning Uber has less market size and Ola has more market size.

Food delivery segment

So what did up in India do is that they launched Uber Eats within the food delivery segment. And Ola learned that it has made an entry in their competition within the food delivery segment and launched Uber Eats. And Ola again talked to the people of Foodpanda and gave them some equity and told them that brother Foodpanda people, now we will handle your business inside India, Foodpanda is now owned by Ola inside India. Ola pits Foodpanda against Uber Eats.

So he has just hit his entry in other segments like he has launched Ola Wallet. It works in the same way as Google Pay and Phone Pay, so Ola has hit its entry in this segment as well.

Electric vehicle

Ola has also entered in its new segment electric vehicle. Ola aims to produce 10 million electrical two wheeler vehicles within two years. This 20 million vehicle is very less according to the world's population. Yes, Ola Electrical is going to sell its two wheeler all over the world.

In this blog we will talk about the future of electrical vehicle. Manufacturing in India produces 2 crore electrical vehicles every year.

75% of the vehicles are two wheelers and 25% of the vehicles are four wheelers and three wheelers.

Out of the total vehicles in India, 0.01% of the vehicles are electric and can be more. If we compare with China then 16% vehicle is electric in China.

Here we are going to discuss about Ola Electric.

Ola Electric has set up a two wheeler manufacturing plant in Krishnagiri Tamil Nadu worth 2400 crores. Ola is manufacturing Electric Vehicles within India so that Ola's two wheelers can be seen above the Indian Road and are also being sold here.

Ola Electric is also a unicorn, so they have a lot of investment to build a manufacturing plant. Ola's plant is spread over 500 acres and Ola has started manufacturing 1000000 vehicles in 1 year. And gradually increasing it too. And the price of their vehicle is 90000+.

India is the hub of two wheeler manufacturing like Heromotocorp and TVS two wheelers are exported to different countries of the world, Ola also has the same future plan to become the hub of two wheeler manufacturing electrical vehicle and sell its two wheelers all over the world.

Ola's battery which will be used in two wheeler will come from China and the other body will be manufactured in India itself. Ola to build world's largest two wheeler charging network Ola Hypercharge
